The village of Akaroa retains its historical gallic past with a wonderful array of colonial cottages, bistros and art and craft stores. In summer the sea will be dominated with fishing, surfing, sailing and swimming. There are wonderful coastal walks, and in winter the stunning Southern Alps are just 2 hours away providing the best alpine sport.
